The purpose of the emergency appointment is to get you out of pain.
You can expect to have an emergency examination and, often, an x-ray taken by the dentist and assistant respectively. This allows the dentist to assess the problem and determine what treatment is needed.
Sometimes, emergency treatment will be performed, or medication simply may be prescribed – but once the cause of your issue is established and addressed, you likely will be scheduled to come back to the office for the necessary treatment to be completed.
